Death On Wednesday

Buying The Lie

Sidecho

This power punk pop trio shoots out like a sonic hypodermic from beat one, hitting me right between the eyes with a brilliant mix of old school meets new school. I'm thinking the energy of bands l ike Green Day, but crossed with the dynamics and style of bands like The Leaving Trains. There's an old world snarl draped across the bitter lyrics that read like pages torn from the journals of The Get Up Kids and The Gun Club. Constant energy and life s tream from the driving guitar, and the drums keep the heartbeat racing like a Saturday morning drive into some desert frenzy. Bad relationships and broken hearts, anger at the state of the nation and a life that comes close to falling apart. The subject matter isn't new, but it's ripped through in a manner that makes the scars feel like fresh cuts once again.
