To Come

Atlantic

You're transported into a dreamy, whimsical, '70s-type lounge. It's dark and smoky; visibility isn't very good and you can barley see to adjust your zoot suit. Enter Silent Poets. On their U.S. debut album, this Japanese electronica duo wash your ears with remixes of vacant songs from an era long ago, or maybe an era of tomorrow. I give much warning for those of you who see the word "electronica" and start salivating: this is not your typical club groove CD. Like an offspring of jazz and soul, To Come is an album that wouldn't get much radio play (due to its category bending mixes), but is worth checking out if there's nothing else too interesting on the market. Definitely good for a romantic dinner with your significant other who is a connoisseur of odd and smooth underground Japanese music.
