Event Reviews
The Rev. Neil Down and The Quite Fetching Lahna Deering blast the Echo Lounge in one of their first shows in the 'Lower 48.' David Whited reports.

Interviews
They don't come more seminal than Mitch Easter, who has influenced music from both sides of the mixing board, with his band Let's Active and as the producer for acts like REM, Pavement and Marshall Crenshaw. Rob Levy grabs a few moments with the busy man.

Print Reviews
No, it isn’t the Ben Affleck story. It’s a reprint of several stand alone pieces that comic creator James Robinson did not feel fit in with the overall story when the BOP omnibus volume was printed. Joe Frietze says it whetted his appetite for more, which in itself is more than anyone’s said about Ben Affleck in years, the poor dope.
Naked: Writers Uncover the Way We Live on Earth
With the anthology Naked, Susan Zakin hopes to rescue environmental literature from extinction. Eric J. Iannelli wonders if she can bring this endangered genre back from the brink.
A great, valuable alternative to major media. But enough about Ink 19, let's talk about the 'zine community. Jason Feifer says it's stronger when the 'zines are better -- and this DIY resource is the book to do that.
Screen Reviews
It's summer and time for the big budget stinker! Rob Levy gives us the low-down on the sequel to the edgy surprise hit Pitch Black.
A middle-aged man whose wife has left him hires a young woman to clean his house as he puts his life back in order. Joe Frietze smashes through the cliché to tell you how The Housekeeper is different. And maybe not so different.
