We Are Not Devo

Various Spudboys

Centipede

There's no such thing as too many Devo tributes, though there's less than I would have expected. The bands on We Are Not Devo are definitely not Devo, but most of them do a middling to excellent job of rekindling some of Devo's better moments. SoCal punksters like SNFU, Face To Face, The Vandals, Possum Dixon and the Voodoo Glow Skulls seem to dominate, which is not a bad things. It gives the album a certain variety in sameness that would do Devo proud. Spud moments include Possum Dixon's retarded-Latin-Disco version of "El Mongoloido" and Supernova's hyperkinetic "Gates of Steel." Consume mass quantities. Centipede Records, P.O.
