Cards In Spokes play mod-influenced melodic punk rock with a penchant for fast cars and greased hair. I haven't been impressed with what I've heard from them in the past, both live and recorded, but this CD has some damn good moments. While there's a couple stinkers here, for the most part this is quite good. It makes me wish that maybe I should have paid more attention when I heard/saw them before. Strangely, for a band with two full lengths out on Allied, this Jacksonville trio seems to be one of the more overlooked Florida bands around right now. Allied Recordings, P.O.
