"You are now entering the Cone of Light... " This is the work of one Daniel Higgs, vocalist for Lungfish. It's an album of joined together pieces and collage, atmospheres over percussion giving way to guitar strums and noise, a journey that's both exciting and mysterious. It holds my interest in a hypnotic sort of background way, but also doesn't blow me away -- I think every other musical person has a few drawers of similar stuff tucked away somewhere. It's home recorded and the sound is tinny at times, but that adds a little to the charm. Not amazing, but interesting nonetheless. Magic Eye Singles, Box 6165, Baltimore, MD 21231
