Notice no exclamation point at the end of that sentence.
Yes, We Are Sexual Perverts (or is it We Are Satan's Pets?) are back in classic form. I pretty much figured that Blackie Lawless, Chris Holmes, and gang were nearly washed up after the sober/somber Crimson Idol and the later-on wretched attempt at "goth-industrial."
I was wrong and this album kicks major ass.
It kicks ass for those of us metal folk who miss not necessarily the days of "hair metal," but who miss the days of loud fast rocking metal -- and I don't mean ballads or "power ballads," either. No, W.A.S.P. have returned to playing fast obnoxious and downright offensive "hair metal" that's pretty darn good.
Of course, all the songs sound the same, and they're about one or two things: 1) going to hell due to a life of sex, drugs, and rock and roll or 2) enjoying a life of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. The "lout factor," multiplied by a "dirtball factor" approaches infinity thanks to such memorable ditties as "Don't Cry (Just Suck)," "Saturday Night Cockfight," and a song that's disgusting (even for me) called "Dirty Balls." The "Helldorado," by the way, is some sort of hot rod that Blackie rides like a chariot to hell. Dig rocking, screaming, drinking, driving, slut-banging whore metal? This is the ticket.
