Not the end of Buckcherry...

from the See You in Jellystone dept.

According to Buckcherry Guitarist Keith Nelson, the recent departure of guitarist and resident ultra-hottie, Yogi, will not mean a break-up for the band. "Did The Stones break up when Mick Taylor left?" Nelson asked rhetorically when prodded on the subject of possible ramifications of the sudden split. In fact, to prove that life goes on, Nelson revealed that he, vocalist Josh Todd and drummer Devon Glenn are currently in pre-producution on the follow up to their most recent album, Time Bomb (Dreamworks). The band recently returned from a brief sold-out our of Japan after losing their bassist, JB, who is temporarily being replaced by the bassist from Synomatic.

American Head Charge guitarist arrested

from the It's Hot Under Those Lights dept.

Guitarist DAVE ROGERS from AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE was arrested on October 31, 2001 by New Jersey policemen for public lewdness after their show at the Continental Airlines Arena. After the band's set, their last on the "Pledge of Allegiance Tour," five state police officers arrested ROGERS backstage after he played the entire show naked. The situation was resolved at the venue. He'll have to report to a New Jersey court at a later date. Here's what ROGERS had to say in his defense: "What's the big fucking deal? I run around naked all the time. I guess the cops were threatened by my man-hood." This was actually the second time ROGERS performed in the buff (the first time was at Ozzfest earlier this summer), but escaped prosecution the first time.

Tree Records calls it Quits

from the When A Tree Falls dept.

That's right, Tree Records is no longer releasing records. We made this decision earlier this year and we feel it was one of the best things we could have done. With the slowing economy and the general public's lack of interest in independent music, many indies are having financial difficulties. While this wasn't the main reason for shutting down, it would have been if we had waited. We had a good run, released a ton of great music, saw the world, and actually had fun doing it. Many of our artists have moved on to other labels (covered below) and Ken Shipley now works in the A&R department for Rykodisc. More: http://www.treerecords.com/
