from the When the funding gets Weird dept.
This past week the Weird Al Star Fund accomplished their mission to solicit and raise the necessary money needed for the application to nominate "Weird Al" Yankovic for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Fund, which is administered by volunteer fans and supporters of "Weird Al" Yankovic, has now collected the required $15,000 for the application fee that will be paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce should Weird Al's nomination be accepted. The application, submitted at the beginning of last week, made it just in time for this years May deadline. This month, The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will announce if Al's nomination has been accepted. If accepted, the earliest date he can receive a star would be in 2007.
