Ramones gets a youthful makeover
from the Cool Kids dept.
In an effort to save kids and parents from the torture of Barney, Raffi, the Wiggles, and countless other unspeakable horrors, Go-Kart Records will be releasing Brats On The Beat: Ramones For Kids on November 21, 2006. Featuring an all-star cast - a veritable who's who of the punk world - singing some of the Ramones' classic hits, this album is not only a tribute to one of rock's most respected legendary bands, but also a solid collection of kid-friendly songs that any self-respecting parent would want their offspring to sing along to. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of this disc will go to St. Jude's Children Hospitals. "This record's cool because it's not children's music," says Brett Anderson of The Donnas. "When I heard that kids would be singing on the tracks too, I knew this was gonna be an awesome project!"

Walken to play Ozzy
from the Why Didn't I Think Of That? dept.
The film adaptation of Motley Crue's biographical The Dirt just got a serious boost in credibility by casting dancin' maniac Christopher Walken in the role of plain-ole maniac Ozzy Osbourne. In another casting coup, Val Kilmer plays David Lee Roth. Brilliant casting aside, go pick up The Dirt and read up before you see the film... there's just no way the best material is safe for the big screen.
