The current generation of Appalachian youth has long had a fascination with Rap Music. I noticed this 20 years ago when I'd drive through a Walmart paking lot back in the hills of Kentucky. I found it rather odd that in an area where the black population only accounts for about 5% of the total and the Latino population is even less, that this genre would be so strongly embraced. Today a scene is emerging that offers a unique blend of two widely divergent cultures, while somehow remaining true to both.
